It’s that time of year again, when open mic audiences at Giggles dwindle to a mere handful of people. Last night there was literally no audience and the open mic was canceled, which was a bummer.
I’m not exactly sure if it’s that specific venue or what, but open mics at Giggles were pretty sparse last winter, too. Giggles is right next to the University of Washington, so you’d think there would be more bored students looking for cheap entertainment… although getting wasted in student housing is even cheaper.
Tonight’s open mic is at the Comedy Underground. Here’s hoping for a better—well, any—crowd…
Whew. I made the right choice then. The SICC finals were at the moore theater. That probably played a part. Or it could be other factors.
