Last night on The Colbert Report, we were treated to a segment by Stephen on the topic of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” which wouldn’t otherwise be out of the ordinary—except that he’s in Iraq and did it in front of the troops:



Talk about stones. This wasn’t an isolated incident of comedic bravery, either; I hardly need to remind anyone of his amazing White House Correspondent’s Dinner performance in 2006:
