This morning, I had one of those days: I woke up ridiculously, obscenely early and couldn’t get back to sleep, despite being bone-tired. Now I’m drifting through the day in a zombie-like haze, and inventing a dozen excuses per minute for why I should skip my morning workout.
In other words, this blog entry is going to be even less insightful than usual.
Last night was my first visit to the Monday open mic at Seattle’s Comedy Underground, and I had a great time. I’m continually impressed with the friendly and welcoming attitude of Seattle’s comedy community. It really is a great group of people.
I had been to the Underground’s old location many, many times as a customer—it was host to the best live performance I’ve ever seen—but this was my first visit to their new digs. The new room is definitely an upgrade, and it was a privilege to get some time on stage with such a good crowd. I’m looking forward to rolling out some new material there next week.
